I have never given my mother many presents until now.

After entering the workforce, I gave her a present for Mother's Day for the first time in a while.

I gave my mother, who loves alcohol, a drink called ``Beautiful Sake from Ancient Times.''

To be honest, I'm not a big drinker, so I don't know much about brands or flavors. However, ``Beautiful Sake from Ancient Times'' is, in principle, carefully selected by sommeliers from old sake that has been aged for at least 10 years and commercialized. Out of more than 5,000 chefs and sommeliers in Japan, more than 90 % of them said it was ``delicious. ''

My mother, who has always had an eye for beautiful things, was captivated by the shiny satin texture as soon as she opened the golden box. Her eyes sparkled with joy, just like when I gave my mother a present for the first time when I was little.

My mother took out an amber-colored sake bottle and slowly swirled it around for a while, staring intently at the glimmering sunlight reflecting off the bottle.

It was dinner time when the sun had set. ``Today is Mother's Day,'' my father and I were making sukiyaki, my mother's favorite dish. While I was making dinner, I was preoccupied with questions such as what kind of flavor the ``delicious sake of the past'' would taste like, and whether my mother would like it.

My mother closed her eyes and took a sip of the ``delicious sake from ancient times.'' I was nervous to see what kind of reaction I would get.

"...It's delicious!"

It was only a single word, but my mother looked different than usual as she spoke with a childlike smile.

I took another sip, my eyes shining. This time, he seemed to be enjoying the drink even more than before. On this side, the sweet and sour, complex and rich aroma of ``good sake from ancient times'' wafted through the air.

I'm sure my mother has drunk a lot of delicious alcohol over the decades. However, this may have been the first time I saw my mother smile so much after drinking.

This present was a hit. That's not just a coincidence either. It's a big hit.
This year's Mother's Day was an unforgettable day for both my mother and me.

Mother's Day in 2023 will be on May 14th . This year's Mother's Day, why not make it an unforgettable day for both the gift giver and the recipient with ``good old sake''?
