Sommelier's comment
The voluminous taste of the unprocessed sake can be felt directly, and from the depths comes the aroma of spices, similar to pepper. Once the stimulation subsides, the sweetness of the sweet potato shochu slowly fills your mouth.
Brewed by: Marunishi Sake Brewery
Founded in 1916 Shibushi City, Kagoshima Prefecture
High-quality sweet potatoes can be harvested in the eastern part of Kagoshima Prefecture, where the Shirasu Plateau spreads. Marunishi Sake Brewery uses this as raw material to brew potato shochu using the old-fashioned, small-scale, handmade method. The taste and aroma can only be created through the process of brewing in jars since the company's founding. It is one of the few breweries that is particular about aging.
