Sommelier's comments
This aged sake has a distinctive rice sweetness that is characteristic of this brewery. It has a deep buttery aroma and a sweet cotton candy-like aroma, giving it a slightly full-bodied flavor.
Brewery: Shirakawa Meijo
Founded in 1850 in Nishigo Village, Fukushima Prefecture
Nishigo Village, located at the northern foot of the Nasu Highlands, a popular resort area with an image of an Imperial Villa, is rich in nature and an environment suitable for sake brewing. This brewery, founded 170 years ago, uses underground water from the Nasu mountain range and local rice grown with that water to brew aromatic, full-bodied sake using advanced pasteurization (flavor preservation) techniques.
