Sommelier's comments
A long-aged Yamahai Junmai sake. When poured into a wine glass, it has a beautiful golden color. It is characterized by a refreshing taste reminiscent of Japanese citrus fruits and a gorgeous herbal aroma. A rare aged sake that allows you to enjoy the rich fruitiness, crisp acidity, and minerality.
Brewed by: Iwase Sake Brewery
Founded in 1723, Onjuku Town, Chiba Prefecture
This sake brewery is located in the nature-rich Boso area of Chiba, in the Tokyo metropolitan area. They are particular about the traditional "Yamahai" brewing method and aged sake. They started to seriously work on aging in 1965. The brewery uses hard water for brewing, which makes for a flavorful, robust sake, so the brewery's capabilities are fully demonstrated in the aged sake.
