On December 26, 2020, we held a vintage sake tasting event at our directly managed store Koshu no Sha in Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture.
Taking social distancing into consideration, we asked participants to enjoy light food and drinks while looking out at the ocean.
When you enjoy vintage sake in a wine glass, you can deeply feel the unique aged aroma.
The offered brands are
Brewed in 1983 Iwanoi (Junmai) Chiba Prefecture Iwase Sake Brewery
1995 brewed Kamaya (special pure rice) Saitama Prefecture Kamaya
Brewed in 2009, Phantom Waterfall (Ginjo), Toyama Prefecture, Kokokuharu Sake Brewery
2010 Brewed Tatsuriki (Junmai) Hyogo Prefecture Honda Shoten
Brewed in 1998 Sato no Izumi Fukushima Prefecture Aizu Sake Brewery
A characteristic of vintage sake is that it evokes a variety of flavors depending on the brand, like white wine, brandy, vodka, etc.
On the day of the event, the sommelier gave an explanation of vintage sake and each brand, allowing the participants to fully enjoy the charm of vintage sake.
We plan to continue holding various events at our directly managed store Koshunoya.
We look forward to your visit.
